Miguel Ángel Ramírez sits down with former professional player Hernán Santana to talk about his coaching career and the working method that has brought him significant success both in youth football and in the professional game with Independiente del Valle. The Canary Islands coach analyzes the behavior of a leader within the locker room and discusses models of human management.
Looking back, he recalls the methodology that helped develop the greatest generation in Ecuadorian football. As head coach of Independiente del Valle, he promoted to the first team players who are now global stars, such as Moisés Caicedo, William Pacho, and Piero Hincapié.
He also reflects on the remarkable season he had at Sporting de Gijón, when the team came close to earning promotion to LaLiga, and discusses a more challenging experience during his time at Real Zaragoza, when results didn’t go his way.
