Following a meeting in the last few hours, Real Sporting de Gijón and coach Miguel Ángel Ramírez have agreed to conclude this chapter as the head of the red and white team.
The Club thanks Miguel Ángel and his coaching staff for their unwavering dedication, infectious enthusiasm, professionalism, and personal commitment.
Since he was appointed the first-team coach on 17 January 2023, Miguel Ángel has left an indelible mark on the team, leading them to numerous victories and memorable moments. “Today is a sad day because farewells have that nature, but it is also a happy day because we close a chapter, and it is a reason for happiness to end it together and see so many people here,” he said. “Sporting is a family, and seeing you all here demonstrates that,” he added.
“Miguel, we are delighted that you have been Sporting’s coach for taking a chance on you, for standing firm, all of us, when the wind was against us. We saw work every day that gave us reasons to believe. We have gone through difficult moments and pleasing ones. We have learned from all of them, and everything has made us better,” emphasised the red-and-white executive.
Guerra valued the coaching staff’s contribution to the Club’s evolution: “It has been a pleasure to see your involvement, your work in bad times and good times, your humanity, and how you have helped us improve. We are sure that we have built something solid that will continue.”
“Sporting is your home, Miguel Ángel. You are a great coach and a great person who has cared for everyone. He concluded that you have been involved with the entire Club and left a great mark on Sporting and many people in Asturias,” he concluded.
