Despite not celebrating a positive result, Miguel Ángel Ramírez received a pleasant visit during Real Sporting de Gijón’s last match against Racing de Ferrol this Sunday. It was Moisés Barbosa, a 28-year-old Brazilian left-back who currently plays for CSKA Moscow, in his first experience in European football.
The Brazilian, who signed for the Russian team this summer for €2.3 million from SC Internacional, has been making waves in his first experience in European football. Despite Ramírez’s short stint in Brazil, where he managed from March to June 2021, the coach left a lasting impression on some of his players. Moisés, under Ramírez’s guidance, managed to win the Russian Cup this past season, a testament to his talent and the impact of their collaboration.
Moisés, who was visiting Spain this weekend, watched FC Barcelona’s match against Villarreal at the Estadio Olímpico Lluís Companys on Saturday and took the opportunity to visit Gijón on Sunday. He watched Sporting’s match from one of the boxes in the west stand and visited Miguel Ángel Ramírez and Cristóbal Fuentes, the red-and-white physical trainer he also met in Brazil.
